What are your fees and what insurance do you accept?
Counseling services range from $150-$250 per session for self-pay. We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare/Optum, & Vantage Health. More information here.

What is your cancellation/no show policy & fees?
Clients can cancel or reschedule an appointment anytime: If they provide 24 hours' notice. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours' notice or fail to show up, you will be charged the full session fee. This means that if an appointment is scheduled for 3:00 pm on a Tuesday, notice must be given by 3:00 pm on Monday at the latest.
If you are a weekly client and you miss three scheduled appointments within a three-month time period, the therapeutic relationship may be terminated and appropriate referrals to other practices will be offered.
If you are a bi-weekly client and you miss two scheduled appointments in a two-month period, the therapeutic relationship may be terminated and appropriate referrals to other practices will be offered.
Do you have a sliding scale?
We have a limited number of sliding scale spots available. Contact our office directly to apply.
How long are therapy sessions with you?
Intake sessions are 85 minutes long to allow time to gather your history, presenting problems and/or symptoms, and for us to get to know one another better. Appointments are either 45 or 55 minutes for individual therapy and 85 minutes for family therapy.
Do you see clients in person or online?
Sessions can be face to face at our office at 400 Texas Street, Suite 1050-6, Shreveport, LA 71101 or online through secure synchronous video, depending on your preference.
What age range do you see?
Guiding Light Mental Health Services is focused on working with teens 14-17 and adults.
What are your hours?
Monday-Thursday (9:30am-5:30pm) by appointment only.
